In an industry overloaded with mere copycats and culture thieves, Harmonic Frequency Matching’s self-titled debut is the real deal, paying homage to those who laid the foundation of funk and soul without rehashing their work. These tunes are in the groove, and you’re invited to groove along!
D.C.-area native Eric Nelson Gershenow has spent the past seven years in Philadelphia, known for its diverse and collaborative music scene. His current project Harmonic Frequency Matching reflects both of these elements. Drawing from a wide range of styles with an emphasis on soul and funk, the EP includes contributions from some of the region’s hottest musicians.
All songs are co-produced Matt Muir (Ben Arnold/U.S. Rails), and feature artists including sax-man Benny Barksdale Jr., roots rocker Matt Spitko, jazz vocalist Shalia “LeeMo” Moser, and R&B heavy-hitter Stephen Wise.
