The self titled Harmonic Frequency Matching EP was a 7 year project that is the culmination of starting from the very first inspiration to write music to the final mastering of the numerous layers that go into making an album. The term “harmonic frequency matching” imparts this idea of dialing in the right frequencies, or sounds to coalesce into musical harmony. You’re guaranteed to find that in each track with it’s own unique flavor, drawing from the diverse influences of every player who has contributed to this project. Benny Barksdale Jr.
With a career that spans decades, Benny’s distinguishable smooth sax tone classifies him among the elite players to arise in the east coast R&B/ jazz scene. His love affair with the saxophone began in his native home of Baltimore, MD and has lead him to work with renowned R&B artists such as The Dells and the Nite-Liters. His solos can be heard in the Nite-Liter’s tune “K-Jee” as well as The Dells “We gotta get our thing together” which peaked the billboards on Dec 20th, 1975 and stayed there for 13 weeks. Additional credits include R&B/ jazz talents such as Grover Washington Jr., Evelyne “Champagne” King, Gloria Gaynor to name a few. His association with “CHOPS HORNS” founded by Darryl Dixon lead him to tour with Alicia Keys. His work with with artist Dawn Silva, formerly a “Bride of Funkenstein” ( Parliament Funkadelic) lead to an appearance on the 2002 Grammy Awards. Having toured across the globe to perform at notable festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, Benny eventually made his way back states where he continues to actively perform in the NJ/ PA/ DE area. Matt Spitko
If someone asked me how to describe Matt’s vocal ability and guitar prowess, I’d say think John Mayer. Very bluesy. Very soulful. His voice lends itself perfectly for folk, alt-country and blues. Matt Spitko is a brilliant singer-songwriter and a solid guitar player. Raised on a classic rock and folk record collection, Spitko’s early influences soon had him reaching for the piano and trumpet, then a guitar and harmonica. Influenced by everything from contemporary singer-songwriters to Harry Smith’s Anthology of American folk music, Spitko’s unique and accessible songwriting style melds a wide-ranging blend of Americana with a distinct voice. 2015 marked the independent release of Spitko’s debut, At Love With War, and most recently Things We Tell Strangers, released in 2018. Stephen Wise
Stephen has been the Bandleader, lead vocalist and saxophonist for the EDGE for over 20 yrs with a track record of total success stories in the private part industry. his extensive track record as a performing artist includes working with some of the biggest names in the music industry, most notably Stevie Wonder and was featured on both Jungle Fever and Characters albums. Other acts he has either recorded or performed with include Patti Labelle, Boyz II Men, The Roots, Britney Spears, and Teena Marie to name a few. He has even performed for Nelson Mandela upon his release in 1990 on the steps of City Hall in Los Angeles, CA. In addition, Stephen is his own producer having recorded projects under his artist name Katriel where he has amassed 6 recorded albums of his own original music which can be found HERE. Matt Muir
Very active in the rock music scene, Matt Muir operates as both sound engineer/ producer while managing drums for US Rails (Blue Rose Records) and Pistol for Ringo (Sonata Cantana). His credentials include working with various Philadelphia artists who are frequently spotlighted on WXPN radio and has personally performed for live broadcasts at World Cafe Live hosted by Helen Leight. Some of these artists include Ben Arnold, Graham Parker, Pete Donnelly, and Cookie Rabinowitz to name a few. When he’s not touring, Matt focuses his energy into producing other artists, recording at both Retro City and Kawari Studios in Philadelphia. You can find out more about US Rails HERE.
